Cabin Feaver

It has been a few days or weeks since my last blog...sorry for the delay.  We just recently returned from a week long trip to Utah.  My moms side of the family (The Clayton's), own a cabin in Pines Ranch.  It is a beautiful place just past Kamas Utah.  I have so many fabulous memories of "The Cabin" as a child.  I wanted so badly for my girls to create their own memories of this beautiful place.  So we packed up the car and headed out to Utah.  We were able to see 3 of my 4 brothers and their families while out in Utah.  We missed Ben and Cooper and the kids, but hope and pray that we can do it again with them there.  We ate dinner with Josh, Ashley and Chamberlain when we first pulled into Orem.  Then headed out to Bountiful to stay with Chris and Lesa in their beautiful home.  Madison and Chris's daughter Kelli Jo are the same age and became instant kindred spirits.  You could not separate them for anything in the world.  Jacquelynn and Zoey are also the same age and played together for hours on end.  Brooklyn has aways been a solo type of kid, so she did a lot of individual playing.  We stayed overnight and then headed out to the cabin Tuesday afternoon.  I made sure while at the cabin to take pictures of my girls doing all the different traditions that my mom had us do when we were kids.  Like, if you see a white horse...."lick it, slap it, pound it".  And riding on the hood of the car from the Pines Ranch gate to the cabin parking spot.  Pictures on the fence ladder, pictures of my girls in the loft looking down, wading in the river, building up dams to create a swimming hole, feeding the horses, playing on the rusty see saw, catching butterflies with nets, running through the sprinklers, eating peanut butter and grape open faced sandwiches, sitting and watching the fire crackle and burn.  Roasting GIANT marshmallows to make yummy smores.  It was memory heaven.
We had the cabin to ourselves from Tuesday through Friday when Chris, Lesa and Dave came up with Chris' kids.  Things just got even better for the girls when their cousins showed up.  Then Saturday morning, Josh and Ash came up with Chambes.  Oh the joy and jubilation when most of the cousins were all together.  We really missed the Ben Burgess cousins!!  My kids were able to create lasting memories and I know they will be desperate to return to Pines Rance again.  Thanks to all who made our trip so memorable.

If that was not enough, after we left the cabin, we went back to Chris' house and for Family Home Evening, we headed up to Hyrum Dam to do some boating and tubing with Shana and Doyle Zollenger.  Oh the fun that was had there.  I am so impressed with my girls bravery.  They are not afraid to have some crazy fun.  IF that was not enough, on our way back to California, we stopped at Josh's hose and all the girls got to ride on Josh's SWEET scooter.  THRILL HEAVEN!!  Needless to say........We had a terrific vacation.  Oh and topped it off with some yummo cake bites from The Sweet Tooth Fairy!!  Wahoo!!!
