Gaga Over Oil?

I have to admit, I have recently become a HUGE fan of Essential Oils and all the many things they are used for.  I never saw myself as a person to use essential oils, because what can a silly drop of oil do?  Well, I learned very fast what they can do and I am hooked.

What is an essential oil?  Or to be more specific, Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil.  Well, they are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.  They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant.  Essential oils can lift the mood, calm the senses, and elicit powerful emotional responses.  Yet the use of essential oils goes well beyond their fragrant appeal.  They serve for both medicinal and therapeutic benefits.  They are a holistic approach to self care and growing scientific validation of alternative health practices are driving a rediscovery of the profound health benefits of essential oils.  Many have powerful cleansing properties and are naturally antimicrobial.  Their unique chemical structure allows them to pass directly through the skin for immediate systemic response to topical application. And certain oils may be used as dietary aids to promote vitality and wellbeing.

The bottom line is they work, and they work fast.  I was introduced to doTERRA essential oils by my new neighbors here in Utah.  My little Brooklyn fell hard down the stairs one afternoon while playing at their home.  She scraped up the back of her little leg so bad.  It was pretty nasty.  My neighbor immediately took care of the wound with the oils she had in her essential oil first aid kit.  She mad sure to apply lavender to stop the bruising.  I was kinda weirded out by it all because it was so new and different to me.  But after the first day, no bruising.  Second day, still nothing.  Third day....no bruising what so ever!!  That was one nasty fall that could have easily resulted in a MAJOR bruise.  But nothing, Nada,   Zilch, Zero, ZIP!!!

Lavender was just the beginning.  I was introduced to so many other wonderful therapeutic grade oils.  Not only does lavender  stop bruising, it helped me with my insomnia.  Yes, I have had sleep issues for so many years and on the first night I used the lavender oil in my difusser (on loan from my wonderful neighbors) I slept through the night!  ALL NIGH LONG!!!!!  That is just unreal to me.  I was sold.  I wanted to know all there was to know about essential oils.  Not just any essential oil, doTERRA's essential oils.

I am still learning, and I still ask for assistance on what oils to use when, but I love it.  I just can't get enough of these amazing bottles of goodness.

Anyway, so now here I sit, a believer in the power of doTERRA Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.  I just can't give them enough praise.  They are wonderful.

If you were wondering, I am now a member of the doTERRA family as anIndependent Personal Consultant.  I am making it a goal to tell everyone I know about the power of these oils.  Give them a try, you will get hooked.

Graduation Day

I was pumped to blog about Joshlyns graduation day, but after scrolling through the only pictures we have of that day, I was a little frustrated with what I had.

As I sit here, I think of the saying,
"If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself".

If I were there, I would have taken so many wonderful pictures. I would have told her to take off the FAKE, dork glasses and asked her to keep her cap and gown on.  But I could not go out and see Joshlyn graduate.  Eddie went and took the pictures.  So there it is.

Anyway, I am very proud to say, Joshlyn graduated.  It has been a long, tough road, but now it is done.

I want to thank my fabulous mom and dad for seeing Jossy through to the end when work took Eddie and I away from California.  You guys are amazing for stepping in and being there for us and for Joshlyn.

Thank you to all of the many, many teachers who pushed and encouraged Joshlyn to get it done.

Thank you to the advisers and counselors and bishops who were "friends" and could lend a non judgemental ear.

She did it and I am just so proud.

All that is left to say is........

NOW WHAT?!?!
