Oh the glitz and glam of being a mom
I am tired. I'm not gonna lie or beat around the bush. I am straight up exhausted. Is there such a thing as a day off when you are a SAHM? It sure does not feel that way. Especially today. I am torn up and worn out. My mind, spirit, body and emotions are just drained and sore. What do moms do who just need to recover? One time I was so stressed out that I was hospitalized for a bleeding ulcer and I got to stay in the hospital for 4 days. Sadly, I loved it. It was like a rest and relaxation vacation for me. Sure a nurse came in every hour on the hour and poked me with a needle, but the rest and de-stress was so totally worth it. But why do I have to go to such extremes? Moms should not have to be hospitalized just to get that well deserved break. I'm gonna admit something else that is just sad. My most favorite thing about being pregnant and having babies..... the hospital stay. Hey don't judge me, I get pampered for 2-3 days while in that delivery and post delivery phase of my life. They even take the baby from me for the night if I ask them to. I will admit that I don't usually ask them to take the little bambino, but one time after Jacquelynns birth, I let them take her to the nursery thinking I would get more sleep, but I was awake all night worried about my little girl. But still, it is so nice to have people care for me once in a while. Moms need that, don't you think? Just once in a while at least, moms need to be cared for. But who will be the ones to step up and do that? Dad's? HA! No, dad's/hubby's, at least mine, is not one for care giving. That would be nice though. I guess in my house, the one that helps the most is my 16 year old. Every now and then she will offer to watch the girls and let me nap. The problem with this most generous offer is that there seems to be more yelling a screaming while she is supervising. So I'm not getting a whole lot of nap time. But I guess it is the thought that counts right? Well, I do love mommyhood, but it can be wearing. If anyone out there is reading and has a suggestion or two about mommy day off, let me know. I am looking and I got nothing. Love to all you mommies!
