To iPad or Not to iPad......That is the question!

Hey, did you hear that the iPad two is out tomorrow?  Well, I did.  Eddie wants one so badly.  I keep signing up to win one, but they have yet to pick my name.  Come on Gods of the iPad two drawing.  Shine down on me. (that way, I wont have to buy one)  Anywho.......my baby works so dang hard and NEVER asks for anything for himself.  He is not the typical guy, buying all the latest and greatest "stuff" to satisfy his manly tech needs.  He always gives the girls the world and then thinks about me and what I want.  Then and this is only sometimes, he asks what I think about spending money on something he has been looking at buying.  Why is he so amazing?  So this iPad is the one things he has asked for since the first one came out.  He did very well at work and brought home a nice bonus check, but with that bonus, we were able to literally eliminate all our debts.  Seriously, no hospital bills, no credit card bills, no school bills, nothing.  So with no debt and tithing paid, bills paid and a little savings put away, wouldn't an iPad purchase be ok?  I think it would, but then me and my head are still arguing.  My head says, put the money you would spend on an iPad in savings.  My heart says, buy your husband the iPad, he never asks for anything all year, year after year.  I know my heart will win in the end.  How do I deny my husband who works so hard and asks for nothing but his families happiness in return?  I don't.  I just go ahead and give him a wonderful gift.

All Things ANGRY

Today, while I was cutting up an apple for Brooklyn, we had a conversation about her up coming Birthday (August).  She told me she knew what she wanted to do for her birthday theme.  She told me, with a straight face, "Mom, I want an Angry Birds cake".  Ok.......so to update you on my position on Angry Birds......at first I thought, "what a silly game".  Now, I still think that, but I enjoy those silly birds.  The game makes me think.  I like games like that.  Let's not get stupid, nothing comes close to my Dr. Mario, but I will admit that I like Angry Birds.  So, Brook and I went to the computer and started to look up ideas for an Angry Bird cake.  What we found was awesome.  It made me excited to venture into the Angry Bird world.  Here are some of the FABULOUS things we found.....Angry Bird Style.

Maybe a costume party?

Or maybe just Angry clothing

Consistent.......with children? Ha.....No thank you!

"You must be consistent,
or your children will be confused."
Nonsense.
...Who among us is consistent?
...Circumstances are always changing.

Children become confused when parents become rigid,
holding rules above love.
Be consistently flexible.
Hold tight only to compassion.

Oh WOW, I have all girls.....Maybe I could suggest some things we love!

So I was at the Dr. office today with Sutton, Jacque and Brooklyn, and I was just sitting in the waiting room when the nurse behind the counter asked me where I found Suttons AWESOME headband.  I told her that got it from
Little Penelope Lane.  "What is that?" she asked.  "Oh she makes hand made fabulous head bands".

Then I realized that I am immersed in a fluffy, frilly, sugar and spice world.  I spend countless hours on etsy.com, I love searching blog after blog for the cutest, most unique hand made girly items around.  So I guess I know where to find the cutest of the cute girl stuff.

I'm not a big store shopper.  I love to shop, but I love custom, hand made things.  They are always better then something you fin in stores, and not always more expensive.  So I want to share a few of the awesome places I shop for my little princesses.  I figure I should share the love right? Well here it is.

My new found love for hair accessories is a little shop called Little Penelope Lane. You can find her here.
She has the cutest headbands that DON'T hurt!!  Yes, that's right, they don't hurt after a few hours of wearing them.  I have been searching for cute head bands that don't hurt.  They stay in the hair even while playing at the park, taking your sweat shirt off, and just being an active 4 year old.  They stay put.  Hurray!!!  I like to wear them too.  They are not just for kids.  I wear the plain ones without flowers, but that's just my preference.  My girls love the flowers.  So if you are looking for CUTE head wraps, check out http://littlepenelopelane.blogspot.com/.

I find myself browsing http://funkypolkadotgiraffe.blogspot.com/ a lot.  Just to read about the fun things going on here, but also because her Etsy store is one of the only ones that makes a
Princess Leia hair Clip.  Now if you know my husband, you know that he is an INSANE Star Wars Fanatic.  There are not even words to describe his love for all things Star Wars.  So when I found this clip, I had to have it.  She also does all the different Disney Princesses.  We own 5 or 6 of them.  My girls adore them and know that they wear them on Disneyland days and days they want to be one with the princess of choice.

Let me move on to clothing.  If you have ever seen my girls, they have a "thing" for Petticoats.  What is a petticoat you ask?  Well it is a big, fluffy, twirly skirt.  It is the only thing Brooklyn will happily wear.  I was finding myself spending $40 a pop to get a new skirt when I decided to make my own.  So I searched the Internet and found this on Marthastewart.com.  It is actually not that hard to follow and make.  And believe me, I am by NO means  good a sewing.  So if you are like me and buy petticoats in bulk, try making your own.  Or search your local TJMax or Marshalls and you might find them at 1/2 price.

Anyway, the baby is crying now, so I need to go be mom.  I hope you get immersed in the hand made world like I do.

Daddy's Make The World a Better Place

Maybe I just miss my husband each morning after he leaves for work, or maybe it is because I just folded and put away the laundry and his scent lingers in the closet, or it could just be seeing pictures of him loving on our girls, but there is something to be said about a great man.  A hard working, humble, fun loving, silly, church going, tech crazy, Star wars nerdy, big teddy bear, sexy, handsome, intelligent, baby crazy, awesome man!

I have a wonderful husband.  My girls are so blessed to be raised by a great daddy.  They love him so much.  Sutton loves on daddy's under shirts all day until he come home, then she loves on him until bed time.  She gets cranky if she does not participate in their special morning "getting ready" routine.  Try as I may, and I have tried, I just can't replace daddy in that "special" routine.

My girls, the girliest girls on earth, love to snuggle with daddy on the couch and watch Star Wars or The Clone Wars. As much as I hate all things Star Wars, I could never take away that bonding time they all share with him.  How I wish I had made more memories like that with my dad.  I want them to always know how special daddy is, and that NOTHING can ever replace a daddy.

I am so thankful that he honors his priesthood and that he WILL be able to baptize each of our girls.

I love my husband and I thank the Lord each day for him and his role in our eternal family.  I am thankful that he takes the time to love and cherish his girls.  That he is constantly making beautiful memories with them.  They will always treasure those memories.

Thank you my love.

Shrinking Mom? We shall see......

I have always had an issues with my weight.  Always on the heavier side.  I have learned to love myself no matter my size, so I never let my weight stop me from doing anything that I love/want to do.  I played basketball on a two time state champion high school basketball team, a championship Jr. College team and played at BYU on a full ride scholarship.  I sang and danced on stage all through high school and college and even into my adult life.  I coach cheerleaders, ball players, teens and adults.  I don't let things like weight hold me back from life.  And I will NEVER be defined by how much I weigh!  I will always know that my weight does NOT determine my worth in life.  I am awesome because I am me.

Now although I am proud of who I am, I know too much about good health to allow myself to continue to gain weight.  I am 33 years old and I have given birth to 4 beautiful girls.  Guess what world.....I WANT ANOTHER BABY!  Yes, you read that correctly, I want baby number 5!  Eddie and I are awesome parents and we have beautiful children and I consider myself blessed to be a co-creator with God.  So YES. I want another baby.

In order for me to have a happy, healthy pregnancy, I need to start out at a lower weight then what I am at now.  It is the only way to have a healthy pregnancy and to recover from delivery fast.  So.....I have decided to take on a weight loss challenge with my mother Sandi and some other friends.

This challenge is to include exercising daily, eating smaller amounts, lowering my sugar intake and adding a new weight loss support supplement called V3.  V3 is the new weight loss product from the company Voyager, you can read about it  here.

My goal is to take off 40 pounds.  I am not in a hurry to lose it, so I don't need to lose 2-3 pounds a day like most people I know think you need to do.  I want to do it right and do it healthy.  The last thing I need is health complications while trying to get healthy.

So here I go, wish me luck!  If you want to join in on this challenge, shoot me an email, or find me on facebook

Here is to better health and a new little Villa.  XOXO!
